We encourage volunteerism in two categories:
Direct Service Volunteers:
When someone has experienced domestic or sexual violence, they seek advice in a confidential setting with trained professionals. At Safe Monroe, we offer help through a 24-Hour, 7 Days a Week, hotline service. Direct Service Volunteers (and staff) are available for our hotline and are fully trained through a 69-hour Counselor Advocate Training Course. The training curriculum is endorsed by the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) and Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape sanctioned through the Safe Monroe organizational leadership.
Our goal is to offer support, information, referral or services to best meet the needs of anyone affected by domestic and sexual abuse – of any sex, gender identity or age – through the availability of 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Non-Direct Service Volunteers:
For those interested in helping with special projects or events, we offer many Non-Direct Service volunteer opportunities. We have counted on over 50 volunteers to assist with special events and other projects such as our Annual Geranium Sale, Annual Gala, and other activities, including our staff & volunteer run ECHO Thrift Boutique,
